Chole Bhature

Chole Bhature is among the most favored, hot and spicy and unique dish from Punjabi cookery that's now enjoyed virtually all around India as well as overseas. Chole is a hot and spicy curry made using white chickpeas (Kabuli Chana) and bhature is deep-fried fermented flat bread.

Chole bhature is actually a hot and spicy, delightful as well as heavy food. I've enjoyed this dish at numerous places in mumbai and delhi. And every single places have their very own tastes and style of chole. In certain area it is extremely hot and spicy, at other it's got tangy flavor as well as the consistency of the curry also differs from somewhat thicker to dry.

How To Make Chole Bhature?

Even the Bhature size and taste differs from place to place. The Bhature need to be preferably less oily and must be puffy. They need to be consumed warm and fresh.

Not to mention it is among Mumbai's popular fastfood. It is served as breakfast, snacks or main dish.

Ingredient 

 

Ingredient for Bhature

All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 2 Cups
Curd - 1/2 cup 
Salt - 1/2 Tsp
Sugar - 1/2 Tsp
Baking Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Water If Required
Oil For Deep Frying

Ingredient for Chole

 

White Chickpeas or Kabuli Chana - 1 Cup
Onion - 1 Large
Tomatoes - 2
Green Chili - 3
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tsp
Chole Masala - 1 Tbsp
Coriander Leaves - 1/4 Cup
A Pinch of Turmeric Powder
Salt As Per Taste
Oil - 1 Tbsp

Instruction


Pressure Cook ChickpeasTomato Puree

Then pressure cook the chickpeas up to 6 to 7 whistle. Make a puree of tomatoes. Then chop onion, green chili and coriander leaves and keep aside.

Heat a pan and add oil to it. Now add cumin seeds, onion and green chili. Cook till the onion is soft and light brown in color. 
Add Ginger Garlic Paste

Add garlic paste to the pan and cook till the raw smell of the paste vanish.

Add Chole Masala
Now add chole masala powder and mix well. Sprinkle some water on it.

Add Tomato Puree and Salt
Add tomato puree and salt in the pan and cook for 1 min.
Add Chickpeas
Now add boiled chickpeas and needed and little water and cook for 7min. If it's very dry then add little water and cook for 1 more min.
Garnish With Coriander Leaves

.Garnish with coriander leaves.

Your chole is ready.

Now it's time to make bhature. First add flour, curd, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl and make dough of it.

Add water if required. Dough should not be very hard nor very soft. Cover the dough with cling wrapped or a damp cloth and keep aside for 2 hrs.

Heat a deep pan an add oil for deep frying. Take the dough and make a lemon size ball from it. Dust some flour to it and with the help of roller; roll them out into round shape like chapatti. Don't roll it very thin. It should be slightly thicker than chapatti.

Now put the bhature in the pan and deep fry till slight brown on both the side. Remove it from the pan to paper napkin to remove access oil.

Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the dough.

Your chole bhature is ready to serve
Serve Hot Chole Bhature

Serve hot with onion and pickle.
