Curd Rice

Curd Rice is comfort food from South Indian region. It is near to the heart of every south Indian.
Their meal ends with curd rice.

You can have this as a main dish or side dish. You can serve it with pickle or chutney.


Ingredient


Boiled Rice -
Curd -
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Urad Dal / Split Black Gram - 1/2 Tsp
Green Chili - 2
Red Chili - 1 (Optional)
Curry Leaves - 5 to 6
Coriander Leaves - 1/4 Cup
Asafoetida - A Pinch
Salt As Per Taste
Oil - 1 Tbsp

Instruction

Add Rice Curd And Salt

In a bowl add boiled rice, curd and salt. Mix it well by slightly mashing the rice while mixing and keep it aside.

Now chop green chili, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Heat pan and add oil to it.
Tempering

Now add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add urad dal / split black gram and cook till it turns light brown. Now add green chili, red chili, curry leaves, coriander leaves and asafoetida to the pan and cook for few seconds.

Switch off the stove and add rice mixture to the pan and mix well.
Add Curd Rice To Tempering

Your Curd Rice is ready. Transfer it in serving dish or bowl and garnish with little coriander leaves and red chili.

Serve with pickles or chutney.
