Panchakajjaya Prasadam

Panchakajjaya is a specialty of Udupi (Mangalore, Karnataka). It is offered as prasadam to Lord Ganesha. This prasad is of utmost importance on Ganesh Chaturthi. Panchakajjaya means five ingredients. It is made from five ingredients that is channa dal, whole moong, black sesame, grated coconut, jaggery.

It is very tasty and easy to make.

In our house it is my brothers job to make this prasadam on every Ganesh Chaturthi. My brother doesn't even know to make tea but he makes this prasadam really very tasty. Now he is an expert in making this prasadam.

Ingredients


Channa Dal - 1 Cup
Whole Moong - 1 Cup
Black Sesame - 1/4 Cup
Cocount - 1 Whole Medium Size
Jaggery As Per Taste Or 1 Cup

Instructions

Roasted Channa Dal And MoongRoasted Sesame

Roast channa dal, whole moong and black sesame separately. Let it cool down.
Grind Channa Dal And Moong

Powdered Channa Dal And Moong
Then add channa dal and moong in the grinder and grind it to powder. The consistency of powder should be like semolina. Don't make a very fine powder.
Add Coconut and Jaggery

Mix Grated Coconut and Jaggery

Now grate the coconut. Mix grated coconut and jaggery. Jaggery should get melted while mixing.
Add Channa Dal And Moong Powder To Coconut Mixture
Prepared Panchakajjaya

Now add channa dal and moong powder to coconut mixture. Add sesame and mix well.
Serve Panchakajjaya

Your Panchakajjaya Prasadam is ready.
