Gajar Ka Halwa

Gajar Ka Halwa is an Indian sweet dish. It is traditionally made with carrot, milk and sugar. Traditional method takes long time to make this dish. So today I used condense milk which is an easy and quick version to make this dish.

It is very tasty, juicy and rich in flavor.  It tastes very good if made with Delhi carrot that is red in color. We normally get Delhi carrot in winter, here in India. So at least once in this season I make this dish.

We normally make this dish on some festival or occasions. Today I made this for my sister who has come to our place as this dish is her favorite.

This desert can be served as after meal dish. It can be stored for a week in refrigerator.

Ingredients

Carrots - 2 kg
Condense Milk - 400 gms
Ghee - 6 tspn
Sugar - as required (optional)

Instructions
Grate Carrot

First grate carrot and keep aside.
Add Ghee

Now heat a pan and add ghee to it.
Add Grated Caarots

Once the ghee is hot add grated carrot. Keep stirring occasionally. Cook till it is soft.
Add Condense Milk

Now add condense milk and mix it well. If you require more sweetness to your halwa, you can add sugar as per your taste. I too added sugar.
Add Nuts And Raisins
Add nuts and raisins and mix. Keep stirring often.
Cook Till Halwa Dries Up

Now cook till the halwa dries up.
